The university of Stellenbosch is one of the most reputable not only in South Africa but in whole Africa. It is a beautiful campus with many beautiful buildings. The city of Stellenbosch is not a big city so the university and the students are very visible in the city.

It is worthwhile taking a turn past the university when in Stellenbosch. Old buildings are beautifully maintained. It is great to see the student energy and vibe.

Beautiful campus. Old buildings are very well maintained. Nice to walk around on campus amongst all the oak trees.

Of course the tree-lined campus with its gracious buildings are beautiful and there is lots to see and do, but I would highly recommend the red-brick Stellenbosch University Museum in Ryneveld Street. Best of all, it's free, free, free. You could spend hours there if that appeals. There is one section on the history of the university, worth a visit,... More

The university has some old buildings as well as some modern ones and the underground library is quite unique. It is worth spending a morning (or afternoon) strolling around the campus and taking in the various styles of architecture. If time permits, a visit to some of the hostels is also of value.

Limited variety of food available. We tried to change shops everyday but some places had horrible food.
