Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, with a recorded history dating back to 1692. Spier's winery has won multiple awards in recent years, including Producer of the Year (Mundus Vini, Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show 2011). We also performed exceptionally at the 2011 International Wine and Spirits Competition (five Best in Class Gold medals and two trophies), and were the top performing SA winery at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for three consecutive years. The Spier cellar has ISO 22000 certification, is Fair Trade accredited, organically certified and follows the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) criteria.

Lots to see an expierance. One of the best wine farms.

We loved it here. Lots to do and to see. Great Deli, a bit expensive. Large wine testing area at the shop. Bird sanctuary and also some imported dogs and cheetahs.

We would ordinarily not have visited such a commercialized wine farm, but wanted to do the SEGWAY tours offered at the estate. In the end we are EXTREMELY glad we visited. The Segway tour was amazing! The service and tasting information is world class. We did a chocolate and wine pairing tasting, and Tyson (our wine server and advisor) was... More

We tried to book a picnic, and they never responded by email or answered the phone, and the online form didn't work. When they finally answered, they said they wouldn't do a picnic basket because it wasn't 24 hours notice. So we went to create our own picnic. They charge R25 for 500ml of water, R40 for ice and R30... More

Take a group, pick out a picnic, enjoy the grounds, taste the wine. Buy some bread. Grounds are lovely and you can watch the kids enjoying the open space and safe surroundings.

We came during summer to wine tasting here. Our guide was super nice and she gave us to try 7 wines instead of 6. Including the top brand. The product itself is high quality and great value per price. We do recommend. We bought back home 6 bottles.

Spent a day at Spier Wine Farm with my family. The kids had a great time with the animals, birds and reptiles mostly, lots of photo ops... Then we had a wine tasting, the kids got a "wine" tasting aswell. Great staff, great value for money.

We enjoyed a leisurely drive to the estate with a spare blanket in the boot. We popped into the deli to by goods for our picnic (you are not allowed to bring your own food) and were horrified by the costs. A 500ml bottle of water sells for ZAR 25. Simply prohibitive. The food is good and fresh but simply... More

We were looking forwards to visiting the Spier Wine estate and having lunch. Unfortunately our booking had not been entered which was worrying as we were a party of 13.
