We visit Mooiplaas as often as possible. By far my favorite wine estate to visit. Best picnics and their wine is top shelf!

Kirsten and John were marvelous hosts of our wine tasting and picnic at Mooiplaas. It was fascinating learning more about the process they used and the picnic was delicious in a stunning setting.

Enjoyed an amazing picnic for four people, included wine tasting! We felt like we got much more than what we paid for! Jason was a great host, made us feel right at home! Imagine picnicking under the shade of trees, having your wine topped up for you listening to the birds and looking at the beautiful view! What more could... More

We were not bowled over with the wine, but overall a nice experience. Our friend was very impressed with the horse riding experience.

When ever I go to Cape Town I plan my time to get to this farm stall. Here you can get good export wines at a cheap price and lots of dried fruit. You will be surprise at the variety of fruit and jams and lots more!!

This Roos family farm is beautiful and unpretentious. The wine cellar boasts converted horse cribs that serve as tasting counters with glass tops, revealing bottles of wine in between hay. Deserves a visit – the historic farmhouse is set in a beautiful garden. Ideal for those who love beauty

Mooiplaas is a bit off the beaten track, which is great as you are not going to get a bus load of tourists hogging the tasting room getting in the way and not buying anything. This is an old established estate, fridges aside there are no mod cons in the tasting room, it's housed in old stone building, which is... More

Enjoyed the wine tasting in the old stable. Pleasant surprises on the wine list, like strawberry-, peach-, (coffee)bean- and coco flavored wines. Late autumn, early winter was a beautiful time to visit the farm

At a time when so many of our wine farms have been taken over by large consortiums and foreign investors where everything is pristine and geared for tourists, the "genuineness" of Mooiplaas comes as a pleasant surprise. It is situated 2.8kms off the Bottelary Rd, at the end of a bumpy farm road that leads through two other farms. The manor... More
