The standard of the cottages here is great. The one we stayed in had two double rooms, and open plan lounge with a small kitchen area, and a great barbeque area outside overlooking the lagoon and the beach in the distance. At dusk you see the most amazing sunsets from the barbeque area, while relaxing on the provided camping chairs... More

An incredibly beautiful place. The beach is kind of windy, but the water is as blue as the sky and it is a lovely place to take a stroll by the beach or in the forest

This was a lovely forest walk close to the beach, there were quite a few options and attractions. When the weather is good, you can get in a few hours of canoeing and walking. Kids loved it.

My friend and I did the bushpig trail. Unfortunately it started to rain halfway through. We got totally soaked to the bone and had to walk the rest of the way (over two hours!)in lashing wind and rain. Freezing cold. The walk starts off really pretty with lovely views add then goes through a long stretch of forest which is... More

Goukamma is one of those places one finds almost by default. All of the walks are accessed following a short crossing by rope pulled boat. Then thre are lots of choices, all of them spectacular in their own way from the Bushpig Trail to the longer porcupine. There are roaring beaches and stillness between the Indian Ocean and the milkwood... More

So many things to do and experience for the nature lover. Unfortunately on the day we visited it was real cold and windy but will be back!

We take under privileged kids on trips to see their area. Sometimes us helpers get to see a place for the first time too. It is with utter regret that i'd never gone hiking in the Goukamma Nature Reserve. There are plenty of trails, taking you through fynbos, milkwood forest and coastal thicket. There's the amazing river and endless beaches.... More

We went to visit our favourite picnic spot of many years ago and found it still tranquil but deserted. Although it was during the week, there was no one in sight. The river and nature is still beautiful but the picnic tables were flooded.
