This was such a good trip with so much interesting history and a very beautiful place. We had a very funny guide who kept us amused and interested throughout. The lunch included was extremely good considering they were doing mass catering on a grand scale.

Very disappointed . My girlfriend came here 10 years ago and really enjoyed it so when we came back this year, her eager to show me this place she was very disappointed. It is basically now for tour groups. We were on our own so had no clue when to get lunch or where we could sit for lunch. We... More

The knysna heads are extremely beautiful however for my next stay I'd rather drive to the publicly accessible head instead of going to the privately owned featherbed. Especially since we now know that you have the same spectacular view from the public head.

Across the lagoon by boat and then a trip around the Reserve with super views of the Knysna Heads. A really nice walk back to the jetty.

This involved a boat trip across Knysna lagoon to the nature reserve on the other side. This is a lovely way to see and appreciate Knysna and the lagoon. After being transported up the hill you can then walk back down. The walk takes about 45 mins and the view points were beautiful, especially from the caves. You do need... More

We cruised across the water in a ferry to be met by a series of trailers pulled by a tractor. This took us up a scenic route to the highest point. Magnificent views where the rivers and oceans met. There was a choice to ride or walk back down. The walk was a little rocky and good shoes were really... More

We were interested to visit the Knynsa Heads and booked this trip--it is over priced. The guides appeared completely bored and the script was so dated, the awful gender based remarks that were not funny when used years before. We had to be split into two groups, as we went up the hill in the second group, we could hear... More

I was unable to do this excursion but my husband did it and enjoyed it very much. You go by boat across the lagoon to Featherbed where you are taken to the top of the hill in jeeps and then you walk down from the top round the back of the Heads forming the entrance to the lagoon.

Having arrived at the Nature Reserve by boat, we clambered aboard the trailers behind a huge tractor. Very steep ascent to the top but what views. Not great if you don't like heights though. At the top you have the option to descend in the trailer or, and highly recommended, walk down the nature trail. Superb scenery. Only disappointment was... More

Tour starts from Cruise Cafe - bit of an old boat but staff were helpful. You cross over the heads to the Nature reserve - some good views and interesting history provided by the staff. Taken up the hill by an bit of a rickety truck - not really a 4x4 but adequate. Again some lovely views over the heads.... More
