Tourist oriented

Numerous curio and tourist oriented shops. Nice way to spend a lazy afternoon, browsing and having a nice lunch at one of the restaurants. Worth visiting when in Knysna.

We visited this beautiful area yearly and is always very satisfied. Situated in Knysna on of the most picturesque towns in South Africa. Situated on the N2 road. Plenty to view and experience in and around the area. Plenty great restaurants and coffee shops. Great weather all year round.

We checked in @ Baywater Village and someone there advised us to visit the knysna waterfront, when we arrived there we saw how lively the place was, full of tourist. There's a lot to do, it's a whole day's trip and you won't be bored. There are interesting shops, Restaurants and a number of cruises to take. We enjoyed ourselves... More

Good selection of local arts and crafts, Pricing is typical for a tourist destination, Just be careful of cheap Chinese knockoffs., Chinese should he banned in this country.

Stumbled upon The Waterfront area while exploring Knysna. It is small but has lots to offer. There 6 or so restaurants with 30 or so shops including two high end jewelers. We picked up quite a few souvenirs and gifts while visiting. The jewelers even got a visit.

I felt the waterfront is directed at tourism. Groups and groups of tourists strolling about. And kiosks and shop all aimed at the African experience and priced accordingly...although there are local family restuarants there as a pluspoint! There are many charters available and similar to any waterfront all aimed at the tourist...As a local (Cape Tow) i felt uncomfortable, but enjoyed... More

Knysna's miniature version of the Cape Town V&A waterfront, a good place to visit to either have a meal or just to relax in scenic conditions. With a huge variety of restaurants to chose from most having a view of the water and boats. Several small stores selling touristy stuff with free parking close at hand. For those having time,... This is another waterfront as in Cape Town where goods are overpriced and shops are more focused on tourists. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. All your boat tours etc are done here which is convenient.

South Africa seems to like waterfronts. The Waterfront Knysna Quays is just another one. Shops and restaurants.

We stayed at the Protea Hotel which is on the waterfront. There is a short promenade of shops with all the standard tourist shops and then a selection of restaurants including a Spur and 34 South both of which we ate at and were excellent. At the entrance there is a shop selling ostrich eggs and having now been to... More
