Relatively short walk, only 3.6km. The hills and descents are very steep. Be sure to take your camera and eats because when you reach the Homtini River the rewards are satisfying and you will want to spend some time there. The waters of the river are very refreshing and is a great idea to take your swim wear for a dip in the summer.

do not be fooled! IF you have knee, hips or ankle problems do not attempt this. Even though it's only 3-4 km's it's tough... most parts are straight down and on the way back straight up. The inclines / declines are so bad that ropes have been installed along the way to assist you. but the pools are so beautiful.... More

One of the most unique, raw and beautiful experiences I have ever had. There is a nice 2km walk down to the River/waterfalls, and the last KM is very steep so be careful when taking your children. You can swim in the water, jump from rocks into the pools. Unspoilt and stunning

Having lived in Knysna for 8 years I am pleased with all the gems I discover every year. A party of Max 12 people are allowed but I think 8 is enough. Drupkelders is an amazingly beautiful and special place. The water is icey but so refreshing after the short but hectic hike. It's paradise! Nice waterfalls and rock pools.... More

Steep walk down to the Homtini river to the Drupkelders but worthwhile. We can also recommend the hikes and recreational areas in the rest of the Goudveld area. It is well looked after by the SANparks personal.

This place is beautiful and peaceful. Just round about 4km to 5km walk to the river where you can play under the waterfall. Its a relatively easy walk for the first 3km, it gets really technical and challenging towards the end_ But is totally worth it. Enjoy

Earlier this year we discovered magical haven hidden in the middle of the Knysna forest. While browsing the Internet for various hikes and trails in the area, I stumbled across the Drupkelders trail. It was fairly nearby the accomodation we were staying at and after a morning of markets and good food we decided to get our hearts pumping and... More

The unfit should be weary as the return hike is indeed a bit of a challenge. Excellent scenery and indeed a wonderful way to spend the day with the family.

Challenging trail for the unfit with most of the work being put in on the way back. The river and rock pools are beautiful, however it is quite challenging to navigate the slippery rocks to get a closer look. Wear proper hiking shoes and watch your step, the trail is quite narrow in some places.

We did this hike on the brim and obviously did not see the reviews of how challenging this hike is. I should have gotten the hint when the guy at the gate where we bought the tickets made a comment about my shoes (normal cross trainers). Anyway, there we go and the first part was fine, until the very steep... More
