Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

We were recommended by a local to try this beach and it was about 20k from Knysna but very pleasant. Beach was very clean but lots of steps to the sand

WE had to wait for the rain to move on but once it had gone we walked for over an hour, meeting very few people on the way and enjoying the crashing surf. The beach is clean, backed by tall dunes. It is not for swimming in - strong tidal rip and sharks!

A fifteen minute drive from Knysna, you will be reminded that so much of the cape is not yet developed. From the very nice restaurant and even better coffee shop above the beach it is a short wood stairway down to a beautiful natural beach, great sand, no umbrellas or kiosks, no real swimming, but great sand.

Stunning beach with an inviting sea beating in-glorious views -BUT in very hot weather no umbrellas,no seats and more importantly LOTS of bluebottles which we were warned give a very nasty bite. It is still wonderful to walk along wearing some kind of foot protection but the above problems stop it being a world beater.

Bit out of the way so left it till late in the afternoon to visit. Wish we had gone much earlier as it is a gem. Glorious, secluded beach with a small village that provides all that you would need without destroying the charm of the location.

This is an amazing beach, what would normally be called a "pocket beach" except that it's actually quite long. It's well down from the road - though the path down is easy to follow and has stairs. From the pictures taken above the beach you could get the impression that the water is right there - not 100-vertical-feet below you.... More

This area is a short drive from Knysna and well worth the trip. The beach is beautiful, it's clean and easy to walk on. Nice cafe overlooking the beach we watched a large pod of dolphins swim by while having a coffee.
