How's Koppie, or at least the base of the all, is five minutes or so from the centre of Hermanus. It is a hill with a cave and the summit hosts the burial place of Mr hoy and his wife. I believe he was a Scottish railway engineer who had the good sense to keep railways out of the region.... More

Hoy's Koppie is very close to town and is worth the relatively easy climb to the top for the amazing 360' views of Hermanus once you get to the top. There is a flat walk way to the half way point or steps all the way to the top. Can be achieved by most people. At the top are the... More

Not a strenuous walk, a cobbled/paved stepped walkway leads up to the top of this hill where there are a couple of graves. It affords lovely views of the surrounding areas and the bay. There were beautiful wild flowers in flower when we went up there. A peaceful place where it is nice to just sit and gaze into the... More

A good 1 hour activity in Hermanus - and not many people aware of this natural attraction. A nice walk up to the top, on the main contour path, that takes you right around the Koppie. The top stairs could be tiring for those not too fit, however once there - you enjoy stunning views of Hermanus, the Fernkloof Mountains... More

A small hill inside Hermanus. Take the path and the stairs to the top. Here you will find the graves of the first mayor in Hermanus and his wife. If you are lucky the will be a guide to walk you to the top and tell you what you can see: The High School, the golf course, the Hermanus Hights... More

Great views of Hermanus from the top . Very interesting information along the path to the top on signboards. Quite a few security persons around keeping an eye out. This spot is a must see when in Hermanus. Highly recommended.

Whenever I am in Hermanus I take a walk up Hoy's Koppie at least once. The view from the top is amazing and encompasses the whole of Hermanus and Walker Bay. My young daughter loves the climb too. It's an easy and relaxing walk to the top with many interesting fynbos plants along the way. Interesting information on the history... More

On a clear day, it is one of the best views you will find from the town and the bay. It's a comfortable walk, and if you do manage the last 180 meters, you will find the graves of Scottish-born Sir William Hoy, and his wife Lady Hoy right at the top. You can walk all the way around the... More
