Pleasant surrounding with gardens manicured to perfection and jasmine on the nose The hospitality team is attentive and engaging. We sought out difference in menu which it delivered in writing but lacked on taste. My Zebra dish for main was more memorable in the pine nuts and accompaments. The tuna and salmon tartare was okay but felt the salmon was... More

I don't usually enjoy a buffet, but I found the food here to be excellent and they did not hold back on the roast. Fantastic sitting outside in the beautiful garden. A tad pricey perhaps.

Great location with an impressive wine tasting and dining area around a water feature, very modern and sleek Great wine and food matching and although we had the promotional menu our group was not once disappointed with our choices. Excellent service levels but a pricy excursion for South African as it is clear that the restuarant are more aimed at... More

Exquisite food, interesting menu which is well executed, great service, there is a children's menu and outdoor dining, rooms can be hired for private functions. Once we were even pleasantly surprised by two owlets sitting in the tree above the entrance to the restaurant. The view is lovely, decor is simple, lovely for lunch or dinner. Have visited with friends,... More

I got the impression that Catherina's menu is about good food, seasonal and solid--unlike some of the very experimental and gimmicky offerings at other top rated Cape restaurants. Had the crustacean starter--delicious scallops but found the crumbed prawns a bit dry and bland. We had the red blend called Catherina's--was the cheapest on the menu yet we enjoyed it thoroughly. Main... More

Catching up with friends over great food was in order and Catherina's delivered on the evening. Started with drinks on the sofas by the bar whilst we waited for our friends, then over to our table which was spacious and a great waiter who was spot on with everything that evening. From our starters of prawns to my pork belly... More

Lunched here 22 March. Service was slack verging on absent. Finally Maitre D stepped up and was charming. The food was average and highly priced. Had the rigatoni, a few prawns and slices of chorizo buried in a bowl of pasta in a tomato sauce. Really nothing spectacular. Other guests had carpaccio starter which they enjoyed. Generally food presentation was... More

There are two restaurants within this Steenberg Vineyard - Bistro Sixteen82 and Catherine's. Catherine's is the one closely affiliated with the Steenberg Hotel and poor. We had booked for dinner (2 people), were advised to have a drink first as two large parties had just gone in and would delay our service (why should that be our problem). Left outside... More

The new (female) Chef is Great. Also the Service is very friendly. Must have: Risotto! Great wine. Catherinas is a very good compromise between normal and Fine dining. It's high Class Food but still normal athmo.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. Buffet style, with plenty to choose from, and all very fresh and tempting. Meats for main were perfectly cooked and nice veg and pots to accompany. Puds were plentiful and delicious looking. Wines of course out of this world. Only disappointing thing was the live music. The singer seemed to only know haw to... More
