We did an adapted version of the Hoerikwaggo trail due to of recent fires in the area, the Silvermine Camp has burnt down and certain areas of the mountain are restricted for regeneration. The hike itself is spectacular! we didn't take a guide but the paths were all very well marked and the route is amazing. Smitswinkel camp is lovey,... More

I just enjoyed one of the most glorious 4 day treks of my extensive walking life: the Hoerikwaggo Table Mountain Trail (Feb '15), a trek in an urban national park South of Capetown, thanks to the superb guiding of Dominic Chadbon, accredited TM guide. He possessed an inexhaustible knowledge about the flora, fauna, history and geology of the Fynbos and... More

The Overseers cottage is part of the Hoerikwaggo trail. The cottage is in the most stunning position with incredible views and scenery. Renting the cottage for 24 people cost R5600 for the night, and for the price would have expected the cottage to be well maintained. Upon arrival we found the oven door broken and hanging loose - according to... More

Wonderful two days spent with expert duo Frank and Ray from Slackpacker SA/Platteklip Tours & Trails. We ascended via Nursery Ravine, hiked across to Kasteelpoort and stopped for the night at Overseers Cottage. Nature didn't disappoint, a pity that Sanparks couldn't resolve the water problem at the cottage which resulted in us having no running water for the duration of... More

Been a few times up there in the summer, but never expected such a flower show in the winter. The summer visit was interesting and various species was seen (it is quite hot), but after getting some winter rains, it become a flower show with the most beautiful small wild flowers every-where. Normally it is just all brown in the... More

A fantastic way to see the mountain and the surrounding areas. The trail is broken up into sections and some are tougher than others - like the hike up the back of Table Mountain but it is SO worth it.

Did a 3 day walking trail - absolutely amazing. Luxurious accommodation - you don't even carry your own bag - they cook for you and plenty surprises on top of Table Mountain. Book well in advance

This is an amazing 5 day trail. It's a tough hike +/- 75km and we recorded over 5km of climbing on our GPS (we walked from Cape Point to the Cable Car, though you can do it the other way). The views and fauna are spectacular from the cliffs of Cape Point and Chapmans Peak to the mist and trees... More

The views are superb- nature abounds, sea views, indigenous plantlife and more. The guides are helpful and kind. The accommodation was clean, although the weather can make the tents quite chilly!
