Spectacular view up there

It is worth trekking for an hour up to the top (3km). You just have to bring your drinks and snacks. The view is amazing!

This place is CRAWLING with locals after work, who seem to effortlessly bound up its slopes. Not so this less fit traveller, but I would still absolutely recommend it. There is no lighting on the track, so make sure you head up during daylight. We went late afternoon on our first day in town to "get our bearings" and left... More

I've loved doing hikes, and am a BC boy where there are lots of mountains and such, and I haven't found a more perfect hike then Lion's head. It is the perfect length and it is not too strenuous, and the view from the top is unbelievable (an amazing 360 view of Cape Town). It is a hike that is... More

Really fun climb with lots of variations, a bit scary in places but this adds to the excitement, would not recommend if you have a big fear of heights! We couldn't see the view on the day we went up as it was overcast but this actually added to the airiness. Would love to do it again. Pack snacks and... More

We set out at 4pm to walk Lions Head, the views get more and more spectacular as you wind around the mountain. The last third however is not for the faint-hearted as hikers need to use chains and rungs set into the stone to clamber to the top.

Took a stroll to the top of Lion's Head. The track is well marked and ready to follow. There are a few steep rocky bits near the top. The views of Cape Town, Camps Bay, Table Mountain and the coast are spectacular!

We had a beautiful day and went early and there weren't many people on the trail yet. Views are amazing. The more difficult route Is not for those with a fear of heights.

Taking on Lionshead was an enjoyable experience. Doing it with a group of young people was even more enjoyable. Hikers well behaved.
