Fascinating and fun!

Our girls age 8 and 10 loved this center so much! They tried all sorts of experiments, the workshops, puzzles and games. We as parents had so much fun too, and I was wowed by some... read more

This is a gem hidden in Cape Town. It is for young kids ( say less than 10 years old but even 13-14 year olds will find it engaging). Dozens of exhibits showcase interesting science. They have been maintained well also. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. The science show/demonstration (by Innocent) is one of the best I have seen... More

What an embarrassment ... leaking roof, old broken exhibits, a truly third world budget affair. What a far cry from its MTN days at Canal Walk.

We had a quiet afternoon in Mowbray to fill and this was nearby - it was well worth visiting. There are a lot of exhibits to view with little that's 'done for' participants. Instead there are puzzles and activities. The accompanying café is simple and reasonably priced. Overall it was a pleasant afternoon and my 12 year-old son, who wondered... More

Cape Town in July is rainy, so we decided to take our 8 and 9 year old to the science Centre, together with grandma. It has a rather tired exterior, but as we started exploring the different activities, we found ourselves carried away- the adults enjoyed the different mind puzzles, the kids enjoyed the mirrors, the construction site and the... Always a blast exposing kids to some of the scientific theories, experiments and awesome world knowledge out there. The Murray&Roberts building area has always been a firm favourite for my kids. Plenty to go through for both old and young. Building the Science Centre is in needs a tidy up no doubt. Coffee shop with refreshments.

Let's be honest here. If you rated this as a place to take your children, something is definitely wrong. Found the place unsafe and unhygienic. One corner under construction and some displays just empty.....standing there for no reason. Clearly to fill up the space I guess.

Took our 5 year old daughter. She was more interested in the construction site than anything else, but great displays, maybe suited to older children, 7 or more years old. They have school visits which the kids seemed to really enjoy. Very interesting for adults too & good value.

This is a perfect place to entertain children for a few hours with lots of interactive displays. During the holidays there are also added programs/classes for children. From a giro, to building projects to learning about sound, playing chess, looking at a huge model train set, learning about the stars and more! There is a basic cafe/tea room for tired... More

Cape Town Science Centre is such a definite must see for all kids aged 3 to 103. There is something for everyone. Good laughs and thrills. Very educational too.
