Small town developed from fishing harbour. The harbour area is a working fish processing community with boats, factories and business units. The atmosphere can sometimes be a bit unpleasant when the processing plant is in operation. Adjacent are restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops etc at Fisherman's Wharf. The undeveloped branch has beautiful white sand that spreads around the area when it... More

Hout Bay is a very historical place, discovered by Dutch sailors in 1848. It has a beautiful beach on one side and is flanked by the stunning mountain pass on the other side, along which the annual race is run. In the middle is a beautiful village. There are a number of fish restaurants on the bay which prepare dishes... More

A lovely place to stop off the bus as you journey round the Cape. Good place to eat and later to dip your toes into the Atlantic

Hout Bay offers varied restaurants. Chapmans Peak Hotel best calamari in the world been selling this since 1960's and still good. Hout Bay Fish Market also excellent and pub with good music on a Sunday was excellent.

Whenever I am in Hout Bay I always seem to end up at the harbour for a fish and chips lunch. Always fresh and tasty.

If you'd like to experience a lovely walk along a long beach, amusing yourself with people spending quality time with their pets then this is the place! Besides the bay does not fall short of offering good venues for dining at places that offer menus exploding with typical seafood dishes.
