The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

Wonderful family-outing venue ... play, exercise and chill areas for all ages. Great for picnics and parties. Biodiversity garden a special touch. Only downfall is that there isn't a café/restaurant in the centre of the park.

I seldom go to the Green Point Urban Park. The last time was about two years ago. The name puts me off: an "urban" park sounds so pretentiously inner city. And I associate it with screaming kids -- not relaxing at all. But this evening I happened to walk through it with my dog en route from Mouille Point to... More

Have a look at the park from Signal Hill and you can truly appreciate precision and natural beauty. Walk through to get lost in nature right in the middle of a bustling city. Playgrounds for the young to get jealous about, water fountains to quench a thirst, recycling facilities on par with any major international city. Truly something unique, safe,... More

We found this lovely park on our walk from the hotel to the V&A waterfront. A lovely place to spend an hour, wandering through the delightful gardens. Excellent view of the Mille Lighthouse.

My grandmother spent a few years here during the second world war when military operations were run out of the then Green Point Common. Today the park and biodiversity garden are a much more peaceful place and a fantastic place to take friends and family for a short walk, a picnic, or just to run around in the sunshine. The... More

One of the Cape's best kept secrets! Brilliant walkways which is also wheelchair friendly. The toilets are well kept and ample space for the children to run about. A wonderful place to have a picnic with Signal hill in the background.
