Pilansberg is no Kruger National Park but it is still a great venue for checking out game while in Johannesburg area. We stayed over for 4 days at Sun City and only spent two days in the park. My small selection of photos hopefully attest...More

The roads were clearly marked and the park is clean. The roads does need a bit of maintanance. Animals are use to the vehicles and does not leave their spot.

It was so exciting to see many wild animals in their natural territory. We visited in the afternoon and it was dark soon. So couldn't see much after 6.30 pm. I suggest to visit this area in the morning. Cheetah, hippos, impalas, elephants, giraffes and...More

We stayed overnight and had one late afternoon and one morning game drive. After breakfast we drove right through the park from Bakgatla to the Sun City gate in the south. At the Ratlhogo waterhole we saw a herd of elephant, white and black rhino....More

A full day trip from Johannesburg, but an interesting safari park. Arrive and drive through in your own vehicle, or in the tour vehicle. Without a local guide, it can be difficult to find specific animals.

This park is very good, plenty of animals , spread out and lots of little rest areas with great photo opportunities. We went as a group with Ivory Tree lodge and loved it.

Fantastic National Park. We were lucky enough to see lots of animals, even a leopard. Well worth staying nearby and spending two mornings here.

I had a couple of friends from Johannesburg take me on a self driven game drive in the Pilansberg National Park after they heard that I didn't see hardly any animals on an 8 day Safari Tour through Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Although I didn't...More

Great short safari drive if not enough time to go down to Krueger. I would suggest you club it with the lion park on the way back where there is more choice of meals and one can get some time to feed the lion cubs...More

Pretty big park. We were able to see a lot of nice animals. We did 4 game drive safaris. All of them was worth, however we preferred the small cars. Due the number of visitors at suncity they had mainly open busses departing from there....More

I'm not sure to be honest. I did my own tours in rental SUV. I like to be independent and I suggest that you rent a car if possible from Johannesburg airport.

Hi, you can get a game tour from suncity. It leaves at 5am and is amazing! Dress in layers though it is freezing in a safari vehicle that early (they provide blankets but still cold)!
