It was really beautiful to see the animals in their natural environment. It is actually awesome to see them so close up that you could almost touch them. We saw Lions, Elephants, Hippos, Deer, Giraffes and Wild Pigs.

Pilanesberg offers the opportunity of finding the Big Five, in easy reach of Johannesburg. Enter at one of the four gates and spend the day at leisure driving around Pilanesberg. There are numerous hides around the park where you can stretch your legs and use...More

Would recommend if some basic improvements were made. I returned to visit on 24/11/18 after two years. It was still a good visit to see the animals. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar tender was a star for getting the rugby on tv...More

Having never been on Safari I didn’t quite know what to expect but this place was amazing, from the many areas to stop, the hides where you can observe the wildlife in quiet awe to the cracking little restaurant ‘The Zebra Crossing’ With the exception...More

We really enjoyed our self drive through the park. We saw many animals and roads are pretty good. Not too expensive. There is a café in the middle where you can buy food and drinks. Several restrooms along the way.

Pilanesberg National Park is less than 200km from Johannesburg. It’s easy to drive there and nice to visit the Park driving your own car (easier with SUV or similar but the ’normal’ car is ok, too). Then you have a chance to choose to roads...More

I used MoAfrika tours and they did a great job. Make sure you bring some water and snacks. There is a place to have lunch in the park. They serve chicken wraps to hamburgers. They also have a full bar. The open tours are the...More

So convenient being so close to JHB and is malaria free which is greta for families with young kids. The game viewing is very hit and miss but that is the case with all reserves. The scenery is beautiful and with the Big 5 plus...More

For me it is better a SUV, since it would help you go thru off road areas that have been mud shaped due to rain, also because you can sightseeing better. In terms of time, I would recommend to spend around 4 - 5 hours... More

Winter (July/August) is often better as the grass is not as high and the animals tend to come to the water holes. The Park is not big enough for migration to be an issue. Winter months are not as hot.
