This is a wonderful place to visit to learn more about the battles the Afrikaner Boers had to fight against the Englishmen in war. There is also a video show where it felt so real as if you were also there.

This series of battles leading up to Magersfontein are hard to find. There's almost nil tourist information outside of the web ( it's not like the Battlefield route towards Kwa-Zulu Natal which is reasonably sign posted). Consequently We hired a guide Steve Lunderstedt found on...More

We had an excellent guide Jaco from Cape Fox Tours, who took us on a very exciting tour of the Magersfontein Battlefield. We started at the wonderful blockhouse protecting the railway bridge, unfortunately not too well maintained. Then we went to the very interesting Magersfontein...More

AS I watched the historical movie of the battle, I was moved by the wile of the boer commander de le Ray, and the courage of both sides. It was sad, and moving. I hope never to fight a war and do not wish my...More

Visiting the battlefield and museum was an experience worth it. Walking around the paths and viewing the strategy of both the English and Boer sides, was impressive. The items in the museum was preserved very well. Made you think.

We got lost a few times as signage is not great ! Dirt road out was in good condition. The museum at Magersfontein with the video of the actual battle is exceptional. Great coffee and food at the cafe as well! Must visit!

There were many kilometres of unpaved road, lost of hillocks, a few goats, and poor signage. The small unattended museum building half way round was well done, the film show was good, as were the displays, but the small guide map was poor and for...More

The movie that is shown in the museum is excellent providing you with enough information to understand what transpired here. There isn't a lot to see here but if you enjoy your history definitely worthwhile to visit and the view from the monument on top...More

As far as I know there are no guides available at the battlefield site or at the museum. If you search the web for 'tours Magersfontein' a few pop up leaving from Kimberley. The museum at the site is self explanatory and... More
