we had a great day trip by ourself in the wetland park. Maybe not that much animals to see as in Krüger or other parks, but the landscape is much more beautiful due to the lake and the ocean and it’s wet conditions.

Let’s go from the start. The check in is slow and cumbersome. You must have photo ID or you are not allowed in. Needless to say we had none with us to had to return to the guesthouse for my driving licence. On getting back...More

We didn't get any info at the reception on blocked destinations within the park but were fully charged. Lookouts seems to have a different meaning in KZN! These are the dead ends of roads where you can stop and return your car. Well protected by...More

We visited the iSimangaliso Wetland Park twice. They do not accept the annual ticket for SA National Parks (wild card). The park has two sections and each is worth a visit. You can drive through the sections and we were able to see giraffes, zebras,...More

The park is a little visited piece of heaven, only 30k long but you have it to yourself. Lots of different environments in a small area. Saw lots of zebra, impala Kudu, wildebeest. Samandar monkeys, hippo croc, buffalo. You can whale watch from the beach

I think it is February/March. The turtles start laying their eggs in November and incubation is about 65 days. The tours will drive you up the beach at night to see the turtles - you have a chance of seeing leopards and... More

We were there around 8am and we were allowed in. it is probably better to be early to prevent the traffic that I saw on my way out today.

I think it's about 150 cars a day. We drove in about 9.30a.m on a moody weather day and it was fine. I think it opens early. Cape Vidal is worth it.
