Safety is always an issue there. The information desk is always helpful and I have never had a problem. The tea garden has hosted a couple of my client's and friends weddings and it was honestly a really good experience. In order to see the waterfall better, suggested time is during rainy months. Always pack water as you might get... More

This is a wonderful place to visit. Be sure to have a few hours. Stunning waterfalls you can see from below and above. A bridge across the river leads to a rainforest walk on a boardwalk. The other side presents areas of different types of plants like cycads and a traditional medicine garden. Lots of birds. The garden restaurant is... More

Lowveld National Botanical Garden is a pleasant place to be because the contact with nature, the fresh air, the sound of the birds, the waterfalls and the sound of its waters, the beautiful and exotic plants, and all the virgin nature make this place a Paradise to enjoy a healthy walk.

Why wasn't this place busier? Well kept and beautiful. Butterflies like you can't believe. Sunbirds flitting around the trees. Really stunning waterfall and readily accessible from Nelspruit.

The layout and collection of trees in this botanical garden is excellent and should be a "must-see" for Nelspruit visitors. If you visit these gardens and Kirstenbosch, Cape Town you should see most of the flora in South Africa. Apart from the well-labeled trees there are other interesting art objects like giant insect sculptures to look out for.
