We stopped here as part of a day tour. The scenery was stunning. There is some walking involved and the sun can be very intense as there was not much shade. Take water, a hat and sunscreen.

We did a self-drive through the Canyon area and found it very beautiful! A large and wide area that this 3rd world-biggest canyon covers with impressive rocks, boulders and viewpoint platforms all along the way. We were impressed by the beautiful scenery and atmosphere!

So glad that we took time out, albeit just one night, to take in just some of the Blyde River Canyon. The Canyon is big and can be seen from several stops along the Panorama Route and also from the lake. Most of these stops charge a very small fee, one or two, such as Wonder View just north of... Lovely place, a hidden gem. Really worth the visit. You can either take the hiking trails or just drive to the dam and take beautiful pictures, depending on how much time you have. Great choice for a stopover on the way from Jo’burg to Kruger Park. There is a small fee on the entrance to the park near the dam... More

I live in, and around the most beautiful views. I would really recommend the Blyde River Canyon. The mountains are just breath taking. Do yourself a favour, and put this one, in your bucket list! That is all I am going to say. Come and experience it, yourself!

Incredible 360 degree views for miles across and down the canyon, an amazing photo opportunity for those that don't go weak at the knees!! Also can trade with the local artisans in the car park!, we combined the trip with Hoedspruit endangered species centre.

Showstopping views over the photogenic Blyde river are available at this clifftop location. It's an easy walk from the carpark although a bit rocky. It should be manageable for those with infirmities though. The view is stunning - just make sure you go on a clear day to see it properly! The carpark has toilets and some small shops. Drive... The Blyde River Canyon offers breathtaking views. We stopped at the three roundavels and when we drove back we did stop at a lookout point next to the road and even liked the views from this side better.

Stunning, calm and awesome panorama. Three rondavels are a sight to behold. Views from the God's window are equally stunning..greenery all around. Probably one of the best places to see in South Africa. Definitely in my top three with Table Mountain and Pangong lake- Ladakh (India).

Largest green Canyon is a must see. There is a boat ride taking you through the canyon. The prices here were ridiculously cheap!
