A really great feature to help anyone explore the region by boat, swim or canoe. A good half day trip should be enough to explore the watercourse by vessel of some description. There are also lovely boardwalks on the southern banks and hiking routes to help take in the scenery by foot too!

Wilderness is one of our favourite places. The lagoon is such a beautiful stretch of water with lovely, safe swimming. You can paddle or swim for miles.

Plan your walk along Wilderness beach to finish under the bridge, walk along the lagoons edge to admire the tranquility. Worth a walk.

Fantastic panoramic view, overlooking the valley as it were; also, you behold the majestic wonder of the mountain, that makes you in awe of nature.

One of the most beautiful spots in our country. Take a walk on the water's edge with your camera, it will not disappoint.....

We love driving along the lagoon and visiting the bird hides. There is a wide variety of especially water birds. We were even lucky enough to see the Knysna Loerie

This is one of the most scenic and unspoilt lagoons - a wooden boardwalk runs along the one side to enable you to experience the nature and beauty. Fishing, canoeing, paddling, SUPing can all be enjoyed too. Or just walk under the bridge to the beach.

Wilderness lagoon is one of those places in South Africa where the beauty of nature makes one feel you are in paradise. The Touw (Dutch for rope) river is ideal for canoeing and swimming, and you are apt to see fish eagles, the elusive Knysna loerie with its red underwings, a variety of kingfishers and many more birds .

Just behind the dunes from Wilderness beach is a beautiful lagoon area that is actually a national park with well kept wooden walkways and facilities for rowing, walking, running and cycling
