Beautiful walk through the forest, with a very attentive guide, who is aware of the horse's hierarchy. Good horses that also have character and don't just walk after the next one. Good for inexperienced to intermediate riders, but can feel a bit slow at times. There are several places to canter if you wish to and some places that are... More

My dad and I recently went on the 1.5 hr forest trail ride with Black Horse Trails, and it was fantastic. The directions made it easy to find the barn, we were greeted by our guide with a friendly smile. Our guide clearly had a great relationship with the horses and knew what she was doing. Thoroughly enjoyed the trail... More

A trek through the wondrous forest on horseback with an optional trot now and again for those who are experienced or learning to ride made this an unforgettable horse ride! At the end of the ride we were greeted by the beautiful rock pools and had a swim in the chilly waters before heading back. Our horses Jack and Sophia... More

The most amazing experience on the best horses ever, Sophia and Artemis were our steeds and were receptive to an old duck and young buck. Gave us the most fantabulous ride through pine forests - the smell, the track, the rock pool - definitely a heavenly experience. Andrea our guide, a gem - considerate and informative - just a lovely... More

Thanks to Andrea for giving us a wonderful horse ride through the stunning landscape - open land with the mountains as backdrop and the forest. Good value as well.

We were met by Lizzie & Mia who were bubbly and made us feel welcome. They knew a lot about the horses and were able to map each of our personalities with the right horses. I rode Sophie (the Diva - like me LOL) and what an amazing horse she is. A bit stubborn at first but made me enjoy... More

A superb setting with horses, a new foal, chickens, dogs and other animals wandering freely through the gardens. We enjoyed a 90 minute ride through the woods doing some cantering and trotting whilst trying to avoid the low hanging branches. we even saw a monkey scampering up a tree.

My daughter's horse riding booking (3 hours) in the woods with Black Horse trails (situated near Hoekwil village) turned out to be an excellent family event. Reception at the trial venue was warm and hearty and the guides quickly explained formalities and the various experiences/ activities that would be enjoyed along the route. Once the riders and their guides set-off,... More
