We only saw the outside as the museum is closed for renovations. The memorial had so many points of symbolism, I was really glad we had a guide to tell us the stories and bring it all to life from his own experiences.

We stopped here on our Soweto tour, it is an interesting memorial to a terrible incident in South African history. The architecture is really unusual, and quite evocative.

An essential visit if in the city. It is well laid out and well kept up. The guides who are available in the area are very knowledgeable. Worth a visit.

I highly recommend a guide for this tour. That way you know the location of the shooting, where the roadblocks and re-live the moment. Not to be miss if you want to know what happened that fateful day that change the course of history.

Got a short brief on the memorial and surrounding info by a local man our guide knew - his information was well worth the tip we gave him. Definitely could not have understood the significance of the memorial or the... More

Memorial to a young boy who died during the apartheid years. There is a large memorial stone and flowing water around to signify the tears spent. Very moving.

I was riding the bicycle touring Soweto area and encountered this place. I was given the historical information which is quite miserable incident. It was so informative enough to get to know about the people.
