I found the fort a little underwhelming. Fantastic view over Pretoria was a bonus but the Fort and museum itself was only average. If you have time and are interested in Boar War history go.

Just a warning to visitors, that, unlike the good old days, one has to pay to drive into Fort Klapperkop these days. Tried to drive in to show some out of towners and there is a boom and one does pay. R25 per adult, R12...More

I visit this venue a few times a year and I'm pleased to note that it's improving on each visit. Good historical museum with a lot of factual information. It's usually quiet and I welcome the serenity whilst wandering the grounds.

Well worth a visit, for the History and the great vistas. Close to the Voortrekker monument and Groenkloof nature reserve, for a great days outing (and or use your MTB for a cycle tour)

What a lovely place to have a look out over Pretoria, it seems safe and there are benches where you can sit and look out. Unfortunately the museum is closed over the festive period.
