Like most botanical gardens, these don't disappoint either and boast an incredible variety of flora (we didn't see many animals, by the way). It's a beautiful place - peaceful, vivid and appealing to the eye. I especially liked the little signs and writings in favour of nature preservation and protection. If you like nature and beautiful scenery, it's definitely worth... More

We came here early as we were hoping to do Table Mountain but it was closed due to high winds. The gardens were beautiful and as we arrived just after they opened it was relatively quiet. The signs around the gardens provided interesting information and there was plenty to fill two to three hours. There was little wind here and... More

I would love to go back to Kirstenbosch another day, as February is not the month for the flowers, but it is a wonderful place to be, with the tree canopy, the lawns, wandering quail, healing plants, water features and so much else. Whilst the waterfront of Cape Town was beautifully sunny, Kirstenbosch was under the tablecloth of Table Mountain,... More

The gardens were beautiful but were on a slope at the base of the backside of Table Mountain. One of our party had difficulty getting very far into the Gardens because of the slopes.

Even though the weather was unbelievably hot, which certainly curtailed our exploration, our day at Kirstenbosch did not disappoint. Fabulous flora, with Table Mountain as a backdrop. Who could ask for more?

A very nice day trip. Well organised. Prepare for the different shorter and longer walks in the garden; from easy to difficult. Worth going to.

Very beautiful gardens, well designed and in a stunning location. We took our 4 and 2 year old, but they were a bit bored, so would better suit adults who appreciated nature and scenery.

Do visit!! We went early to avoid the crowd and had a wonderful time. Great for pictures! Not expensive and you can have lunch. (We did not; SA is so cheap yet here the prices seemed high)

We love to visit KBG. It's truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. So much to see and do! Always take visitors as often as we can. Also always enjoy the Summer Concerts. Love the No Smoking rule which just makes sense - why ruin a pristine place with cigarette smoke and butts? That said, please consider going... More

The gardens provide a huge contrast to the other side of Table Mountain. This side is wooded, has a different profile and has, at the bottom, these gardens. The boomslang tree walk (included in the price) is very good. There are a few words of warning - necessary when you review the negative reviews here... - It is steep -... More
