Even if you're not a plant lover or tree hugger, go to this garden. It is magnificent! The tree specimens alone are worth the modest price of admission, and there are countless places throughout to just laze about, have a picnic or just look. Gorgeous beyond words!

Two years ago we went in their fall, it was great, now we went at the start of summer, it was even better. a must see, they have tours at Gate 1 every hour for about 8 in a cart. Good early or have your hotel reserve a seat. Good guides for an hour.

Anyone visiting Cape Town should come here. You don't even need to be particularly interested in gardens or plants. There are free tours with knowledgeable guides, which are well worth it. Don't underestimate the time you will want to spend here. It's a big place with plenty to see.

This garden is run by the South African Botanical Society and is kept in first class condition. The proteas, strelizias are worth the visit on their own and the mountain views are stunning, especially from the Tree-top walk. Allow plenty of time as there is much to see.

We stopped off at these gardens on the open top bus tour and were disappointed unfortunately. There were virtually no flowers and put it down to the time of year ,however after touring around Capetown and surrounding area we discovered there are some beautiful coloured flowers, shrubs and trees about. The gardens are well laid out and there are plenty of... More

It was a nice experience to go for a visit to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden where we found a live concert underway and could enjoy some part of it, in addition to the wonderful views of the garden itself

This Garden is very big, and extremely beautiful. When we were there it was a very hot day, so we did not walk through all of it. The "King Proteas" just one flower, the rest were gone.

It was a walk through history Plants, birds, tortoises, owls, mice. It was lovely in the sun The slopes are steep so be ready for a good walk. Fabulous location with... More

Arrived on the day that the first Summer concert of the year was taking place. Lot's of people carrying picnic baskets and rugs which didn't bode well for a quiet visit. As it turned out there was no problem. Plenty of room for us all. Enjoyed the tree top canopy walk and the large glass house. Lots of beautiful and... More

The views at the park is really beautiful and spectacular for a mere 60 rands (5 rands more for a map). We visited on a summer afternoon, and although the place was sunny, it was still cool under the shade. Lots of kids and parents playing around and having picnics. Parking is free and easy to find while we were... More
