Went here years ago and returned to try and relive some of those memories....Every bit as good as I remember it being full of history...

This is a must visit for "petrol heads" and anybody who has an interest in vintage transport. Located in the south of Johannesburg it is not in the best area but there is easy access from both the M2 & N17. There is limited free/secure parking right outside the front door. Entrance to the museum is free. There is a... More

Place is so filthy. No running water for toilets. Vehicles pushed in so near to each other you can hardly move. Vehicles not kept clean or kept in restored condition. To think this is a place of multi million vintage vehicles and it looks so disgusting. Very disappointed. (See photo to see some of the disappointment)

We only had less than an hour (way too short a time to appreciate this place) and had to rush through everything. They don't charge for entrance, only accept donations. I think they should charge and then offer guided tours. There is so much to see. they have all forms of transportation from horse drawn carts to electric cars, buses,... More

If you grew up in the times of Side cars and trams, this is a must. Takes you back to those days you often remember with or woithout thinking or regrets. Puts you back into the times of Hot-rods on Friday nights at Wembley.

Wasn't that keen to go in , free admission just a donation. Turned out to be a pleasant tour, informal friendly and yes worth getting of the hop on hop off bus. Enjoyable 30mins if you have kids with you something they would enjoy.

What a day out. Nice to see the old and the new, the units looked after and preserved for the coming generations.

If you love vintage cars (to see atleast!!), then this place is a heaven. All British era cars, buses, trams, bikes and even bicycles and horse carts, takes you literally through that era. All these old vehicles are very well maintained. This is one of the hop on-off stops of Red Bus city tour.

I spent around an hour here today looking around, there are actually six exhibit areas, it is a very big space. It is one of the stops on the CitySightseeing bus. Kids would probably enjoy it, for the wide variety of antique cars, bikes, horse-drawn carriages, fire trucks, etc.. I found it a tad dusty, but interesting nonetheless. There were... More

Interesting and educational best sums up the James Hall Museum of Transport. Showcasing the history of various forms of transportation from the days of the carriage to the era of the motor car, the exhibits at the James Hall Transport Museum are well maintained and very educational. Various automobiles and motorcycles from different eras and manufacturers across the globe as... More
