Definitely a safe way to get around JoBurg. There are a lot of security people in the stations so you feel ok using the train. Easy maps show you how and where to go. 2 complaints - first the trains weren’t running very often one...More

There are off peak, peak and high peak fares however to the airport (yellow line)it’s peak fares and it cost around R160 or A$16 one way. Depends on exchange rate. Easy to find train station at airport. You will have to purchase a card which you can reload. This is a few additional dollars. Time it takes is approx 15mins. We caught a taxi @ 2 people from airport at one stage due to train strike and it cost $A45 and lucky we didn’t have traffic. It took about 35mins. Apparently traffic can be an issue?
