Visited the square as it is close to the museum. There is so much potential, but the square does not seem to be well maintained, the ponds were dirty and a person just does not feel very comfortable or safe.

Old dirty monument situated in a busy part of town. Lots of bums use this as a hangout. Dirty water in the fountain. Avoid.

This is supposed to be a monument and park, but it's ill maintained, dirty and not a very safe place. It has so much potential, but unfortunately like so many nice things in our country, this is just going to waste...

As I grew up in Bloem and visited the CBD so many times as a child and student the square is in bad bad bad condition and not worth a visit.
