Overview
Our cruise is unique in that we operate in the diverse Algoa Bay, rich in wildlife and history. Visiting St Croix island, home to half the worlds remaining endangered African Penguins. This tour is run just once a day instead of trying to run multiple cruises in one day. This ensures that our skippers and guides are fresh and alert for every cruise and makes it possible to spend more time and effort searching for wildlife in our Bay or observing something special that we come across provided that no one on board is in a rush to get back for a flight or bookings previously made. Our main focus is education, conservation and assisting in research which is made possible by the funds generated from our Marine Eco-Cruises out into Algoa Bay. Trees are planted to balance our carbon footprint for each cruise conducted. We use smaller boats so as to keep our cruises personal. Our skippers and Guides are very knowledge and are there to answer any questions and see to the needs of our Guests.

Very good welcome, very friendly staff, a great morning where we could see dolphins, penguins and some whales. A croissant is offered on the boat.

Was so lucky to secure a seat on Raggy Charter's specially arranged Sunrise excursion which formed part of the annual Welcoming of the Whales festival. This was my second trip with skipper Jake and as always he did not disappoint. He knew just where to go to give us the best opportunity to see the whales. Just after departure we came upon 2 Bryde whales just off the North End beach gently making their way across the Bay. We took a turn and made our way along the beachfront to the Cape Recife area. Seeing our popular beachfront from a different angle did not disappoint. Jake explained that heading away from the coast will take us to stronger currents - the ideal place for observing Humpback whales as they make their way up the coast towards the Kenyan coastline. And there they were! One never gets tired of the sight and the sound of the blow as they break the water preparing for another dive. Did you know the marking on the fluke is as unique as a fingerprint?! On the way back Jake spotted a small commotion in the water which we decided to investigate. It was a seal surrounded by seagulls devouring a large manta ray. Apparently quite a rare sight! A big thanks to Raggy Charters for an amazing outing - giving me once again the opportunity to create lifelong memories. Do not miss out - it is more than worth the time or money!

We were extremely lucky as we went out on a sunny and wind still winter day. It was a beautiful morning, and just fantastic seeing PE this way. Although it's never guaranteed that you'll see whales we were hoping for the best. All of us on the boat were thrilled when we spotted some, and enjoyed watching them breathe and show their tails every now and then. The crew members were friendly and informative, it was great chatting with them as well as our fellow cruisers all morning. I would definitely recommend that PE locals, and any tourists, go on a Raggy Charters cruise!

Enjoyed a special sunrise cruise to welcome the Humpback whales to Algoa Bay during the course of their migration. Our boat was the Winkle, skippered by Quentin and our guide was a lovely lady named Purity and both of them really made sure we had a good time and were very well looked after. While whale sightings are never guaranteed we were fortunate to come across four of them, as well as the fascinating sight of a seal enjoying his breakfast of a stingray.
