There is a lovely hike around the edge of the Robberg providing beautiful sea views for most of the route, with some very interesting geological rock formations when looking upward. Despite the car-park being full, the Nature Reserve was not particularly crowded and we had the added bonus of spending some time on a beautifully quiet beach when we descended... More

Take water with you, go early in the morning,it's a long walk, you need a level of fitness. You can do the short walk to the most amazing beach, do not swim to deep. Sharks can sometimes be seen from the top, near the Seal colony. An absolute must.

With the weather a bit overcast walking round this peninsula seemed like a good option. The full circuit is not for the faint hearted as it has plenty of ups and downs and a lot of walking in soft sand. Our experience was that it was not busy and the couple of quid entry fee not extortionate as the route... More

My wife and I, two of our daughters, their husbands and 5 grand children, ages 5 to 9 had a 4 hour hike around Robberg Nature Reserve. We went for a picnic and ended up doing a magnificent, but challenging, hike around the Nature Reserve. It was difficult for the oldies and the rest. What a wonderfull experience. Warning do... Maybe it was the day we chose to go (Monday after New Year), but this hike is very busy. The queues to get in were terribly long, and the parking was completely full. Why there is not a limit to the amount of vehicles allowed into the reserve, I do not know. It was essentially one long line of people... More

Nothing short of breathtaking, exceptional and beautiful overlooking the ocean, the beaches and mountains. The walk and trail is short, and exhilarating to say the least.Beautiful plants, fynbos and flowers A bit of heaven on earth. .

Beautiful views, stunning scenery, including seals, sometimes spotted sharks in ocean down below. Hike can get quite intense, can take at least 4-6 hrs depending on level of fitness. take plenty of own drinking water, none available on route, wear comfortable hiking boots if intending to do complete trail.remember sunhat and sunblock, do not attempt when weather conditions unfavourable.not recommended... We did the Robberg walk with our 3 children age 4 - 8 years old and it was a wonderful experience. Especially viewing the seal colony and walking onto the Island beach on the other side. The walk is well marked and, bar a few places where you need to be careful of steep cliffs, it's pretty safe. Lot's a... More
