The Jerome State Historic Park is housed in the former Douglas Mansion just outside of town on top of a hill which provides good views of Jerome, Cleopatra Hill and their surroundings. The park, which is open daily from 8:30am to 5pm, is an excellent place to start your visit to Jerome as, besides the views, it provides a good... More

The Jerome State Historic Park is also the site of the Douglas Mansion. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Jerome is billed as the "largest ghost town in the US" and has been nearly deserted since the early 1950s when the population dipped from around 15,000 down to 100. Over the past few decades, a number... More

This is a nice short trip out of Sedona. The views from the top are outstanding. Be sure to drive around the town, check out the Hotel ( great views) and park your car and walk around a little. Be very careful where you turn, the streets are very dangerous and if you're not careful you will be on your... More

This is the park where the Douglas Mansion is located - they are one in the same. Centrally located in Jerome and the view from the top of the hill is a view of the history of mining in the area.

We love exploring the history of places we visit, and the exhibits found here do a wonderful job telling the history of Jerome and the surrounding area. Although it might be a bit hard for young children to grasp, I would highly recommend adults visiting Jerome visit here first to catch an interesting glimpse of the town's past before exploring... While in Sedona, AZ we wanted to learn more about the area. I'm so glad that we traveled to JEROME. It's very cool. The museum is inside an old house that is awesome on it's own. We were excited to see a "Buffalo, NY" scale and a "Herkimer, NY" diamond in their collections as we are from Western New York.

This attraction is actually a very large estate home. Some of the rooms cater to the history of Jerome. Other rooms are authentic with furnishing to the time period. Plan on spending several hours.,,it's well worth the stop.
