Whether you are a family with young kids or an old rockhound like myself, this place is a have-to-stop! Tons and tons of petrified wood in bright colors and a huge selection of other interesting materials from around the world. Acres of stock to look at and DiNOSAURS!

After reading all the reviews, we stayed an extra day just to catch this store the day after Thanksgiving. The selection of fossils, rocks, jewelry are infinite. We took our 3 young kids in and put the youngest in a car shopping cart. (Thank you for that!) We made the 8 and 6 year old walk down the center of... More

We stopped by here on our way to the White Mountains, and we were so excited about the quality and quantity of amazing rocks and petrified wood that we planned to come back before going home. I did go rock hounding during the trip, but the selection here was too good to resist. There are many gift items and lots... More

We found out about this place from a flyer given to us at our hotel and decided to check it out on our way to the Petrified Forest. We left with SO many great souvenirs from this place it was one of the best shopping experiences of our road trip! This place is loaded not only with petrified wood items,... More

Amazing amount of petrified wood of ALL sizes (whole trees and burls down to small specimens), shape; both polished and natural AND all was reasonably priced at low retail! Even their other specimens were reasonably priced. The private collection of the owner was spectacular, as good or better than many gem and mineral museums! Their asking price was less than... More

Let me start off by saying this: This place is a great place for all things petrified wood and all things touristy and kitsch. I had a great time looking around trying to find the perfect souvenir. I was drawn to the jewelry on display. I had come on vacation looking to purchase a ring as a memento. I had... More

Hello, I am horrified to hear about your experience. I sincerely apologize for this. We do try to buy most of our jewelry from local artists. When they tell us they are Sterling Silver we give them the benefit of the doubt. Thank you for letting us know, there is an issue. We will change our practice of trusting them... More

We stopped at Jim Gray's Petrified Wood because we wanted to purchase a small piece of polished petrified wood. You cannot miss the location; it is on the SE corner of Highways 77 and 180 and there is petrified wood all over the property. The retail store is no ordinary rock shop. It is clean and well organized. On weekdays... More

Stopped to see the petrified wood. Place has many different stones and other items. Prices are high for a front yard piece but if you can afford it, beautiful items are there to be had.
