This place is amazing if you like birds. There are many vareities of water fowl and land birds. The paths are wide and level. While many are not paved, they are hard packed and a wheel chair would not be much trouble to push.

Our daughter(s) and their families visited last winter, and we took the grandkids to the Preserve for their first fishing experience. The day was sunny, in the 60's and the Preserve was beautiful and pristine. The youngest grand-daughter (7) caught her fish ever. A small...More

We walked on the many trails in this park and still didn’t see everything. There’s a place for kids to play as well. During our visit we logged in 47 different types of birds. It’s a very well maintained and fun place to visit.

A nice path around a fishing lake for a peaceful walk. Then explore the paths around the managed lowland swamps to view the birds and wildlife.

We go here often to just relax and hear the wildlife especially at night and just walk around the ponds. Great place to fish and its safe for everyone.

Multiple ponds, some dry some wet. Rotate ponds to preserve and condition the ground for nature. Plenty of signs explaining the water rotation process. You just have to read. So many animals, rabbits, birds in trees, birds in water, mice playing in the brush, exotic birds,...More

We expected more from this preserve. Most of the lakes were dried up and just looked like dirt. In the water that was there we did get to see some ducks, egrets and pelicans. We heard lots of birds in the trees but we never...More

Great place to take the family. Kids have fun walking the various trails and viewing the "wild life". Good opportunity for some exercise. And there's even the opportunity to fish!

There are not. As the water is part of the water reclamation system for the city it is not open to have boats or people in it.

It is common with our intense sunlight for algae to bloom in ponds. The reclaimed water is strained, filtered and chlorinated but is not for consumption. It is primarily used for landscape irrigation such as golf courses... More
