Great little museum. A hidden treasure. Old friend used to be guide here and first time I went I was knocked over by the history; hidden and obvious. It's about trains, mines, labor, hardships and treasures. You will see things you can relate to present architecture and distant memories of a boom town rivaling any in the country.

This small museum has fantastic displays of life in the local area many years ago. There is an old classroom that transported me right back to the 1960's and an amazing model train room.

More than we bargained for, there`s much more than the rail road exhibit. Many displays and lots of history. The volunteers were a wealth of information. A must if you are in the area, big surprise.

Lots of displays on area mining and a wonderful train display. Photos typical of life in a mining town.

Visited yesterday primarily so hubby could check out the HO train layout and very detailed diorama and was somewhat amazed by the rest of the museum's displays. Both volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly and went the extra mile to answer our questions and really knew their way around the place. Plan to come back in the Fall because it was... More

The Heritage Museum surpassed our expectations. We went primarily to see the model rail road exhibit, but stayed to view all the other displays. Everyone was friendly, chatty, and helpful. The experience was like a walk down Memory Lane for us senior citizens. The model grammar school classroom was a strong piece of nostalgia. I imagine that anyone 55 or... More

Very enjoyable area museum with very friendly and informative volunteers. They ran the trains for us and told us the story of the area. Will be sure to go there again.

Oh my gosh, what a find. Who would've thought you would find such an interesting museum in what seems to be almost the middle of nowhere. Occupying a former school building, this place is a wealth of information on what is now the old abandoned copper mine. The real attraction here is the train diorama. If you have any interest... We spent a leisurely hour enjoying the displays and great historical pics. Being a retired teacher I especially enjoyed the original classroom. The train room is marvelous.... A result of hours of detail work! Be sure to visit!

It is definitely worth the donation to get in. It is a cute little piece of Cottonwood history. It give you a good idea about the history of the area and the nature of some of the strange building that you find around Cottonwood. The volunteers were really enthusiastic and friendly.
