Great place to visit for all who like trains and railroad memorabilia. Check hours of operation to ensure that they are open. They have a great open house where the private passenger cars are open to the public as well as the museum's. That is a must visit time as they have air pressure hooked up to the locomotives so... We saw this from the road and decided to stop. It's a hidden gem for sure. The woman that runs the gift shop and sells the admission tickets is really nice and funny. It was so interesting walking through the vintage passenger cars. They really traveled in style back then. We enjoyed seeing the passenger cars from the old Amtrak... More

A unique museum in the southeast portion of Phoenix (the Valley of the Sun) is the AZ Railway Museum. This is a great place to take kids of all ages: the young ones as well as the "seniors." It's a trip down memory lane. It's also a great place to rent as a special venue for a party!

I remember the big engine when it was on display in downtown Chandler. I'm glad it has a good home now. The coach car housed famous entertainers and the big steam crane did oversized work before it was trendy. During this excursion you start daydreaming about a rail trip to someplace romantic in an America of years gone by.

Amazing how much there is to see in this little outdoor museum. The old passenger rail cars can bring back memories for older visitors. A very nice collection.

It was a nice Saturday afternoon to go visit a place trying to restore and keep alive the days gone by, by railroad travel. It would be nice to travel on these passenger rail cars then sit in a car on an interstate highway!!

Great display of trains. The day we visited, we had the pleasure of talking with the electrician and a carpenter who restored some of the rail cars. It was great to hear about the personal story and history of these relics. Very well done. $5 for a family and you get to see a lot! They only open so many... More

Saw article in morning newspaper, it was National Railway Day ...spent a nice Saturday walking through many old trains, seeing the interior of the old passenger cars and viewing private rooms. Beautiful dishes on display in the dining cars. Also on site was locomotives, a trolley car, and many others! Today was free. Otherwise, a fee of $2 or $5... More

My 3 daughters and I aged 21 to 12 enjoyed this short stop. For $5 total we were allowed to walk through 4 railcars which had history facts inside each area. We then freely walked around the other rail cars, took pictures and 'played' on the tracks. There is also a small gift shop inside.
