Absolutely the most beautiful beach of Bora Bora, by extension first of all because it is very long and allows pleasant walks, for the colors that give all possible scales of blue and fine white sand both outside and inside the water... beautiful.
The sea here tends to be calmer, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets, but what leaves you speechless are the colors of the sea, which for over 50 meters you can touch. Beautiful also rays that walk undisturbed to the shore. Recommended

Beautiful public beach. It can be accessed freely, but only from some areas because others are fenced for the presence of private property. However, along the beach you can also stop where there are private properties, taking care not to pass the signs placed by signs. In practice, the part of the beach closest to the sea is always public.
For those who love snorkeling, however, it is not the best place. There are two zones. The first is where there are also public toilets and showers (where once stood the Otoamana Snack). Here there are no corals but only sand. But you can observe some interesting fish and occasionally pass breeds. Then there is the area accessed from Snack Matira. Here are some corals, though very battered. You can still observe some reef fish.

I have seen so many amazing beaches around the world in the past 10+ years, which would capture 6 years since I saw Matira for the first time in 2018, before we returned in 2024. It is still my top 3 beaches ever! It was the reason why we returned to Bora Bora - it's stunning!

We usually chilled by the Bora Bora Yacht Club side but I always forget that there is another "official" entrance with restrooms from the other area, right across the entrance to the Intercontinental hotel - this is actually where I believe the kayak race concluded this year as I saw on the videos afterwards.

There are some restaurants right here, form down to earth to BBYC fancy options. Not as much shade but this is Bora Bora, it never gets too busy!

Matira beach is a public beach on Bora Bora mainland, easily accessible and with some nice restaurants around. Beautiful views and crystal clear water. Can get a bit crowded, specially when the cruise ships arrive to the island. But definitely, the beach you want to swim in Bora Bora!

Beautiful public beach with a very large boukarou allowing you to put yourself in the shade. The beach with clear water stretches as far as the eye can see. No fish underwater just a place to admire for its beauty. Taps are present to rinse the feet, note that it is better to have water shoes because dead corals are sharp.

Very nice silver. It brings together everything I had dreamed of about Bora Bora: white sand, transparent water, turquoise colors in the Lagoon, and behind the deep blue of the ocean outside the barrier reef. It is a public beach, which is no small thing on an island where the big hotels seem to dominate the best beaches. Obligatory stop on a tour around the island

It is the only public beach on the island but it is superb. The color of the water is sublime, you will see schools of fish, rays will pass near you. Despite its notoriety, there are ultimately few people and it is very easy to park... so leave your hotels once during your stay and enjoy this beautiful beach, sheltered from the wind.

Amazingly glorious crystal clear waters for as far as the eye can see. My only draw back was that there were not longer stretches of beach to walk, and that using a restaurant bathroom on the beach was frowned upon by employees (guess they don’t want to clean up your sand if you are not a paying customer). Lots of sharp coral in the sand too you have to look out for as well. Other than that, pretty stinkin’ splendid! 😎

Matira beach is your iconic tropical beach calendar photo. It’s miles of powdery, white sand lined with palm trees. The turquoise waters are clear enough to see the fish swimming beside your feet. In October, the water temperature was around 26-29c. Bora bora’s only public beach captures the island paradise’s beauty perfectly.

We walked here twice during our short Bora Bora visit to see the sunset - best sunset we saw compared to 4 other islands. We stayed at the Royal Bora Bora Hotel where there's no sunset view at all, so we walked down to the beach, about 10 mins, and were rewarded with a stunning view. There are some benches to sit on and you can sit on the beach and have a picnic. A real highlight of our trip!
