Mahay's Jet Boat Adventures is a family owned business that has been in operation for over 30 years. We are located approximately 2 hours north of Anchorage, just 14 miles off the Parks Highway, on your way north to Denali National Park or Fairbanks. There are 3 different tours that you can choose from, with varying lengths and adventure, each offering something different. All trips include our 1/4 mile nature walk where Naturalists will talk with you about the early settlers in the area (the Dena'ina Indians and trappers)and show how basically and rustically they lived with the authentic replications of their dwellings. Our premier trip is the Devil's Canyon Tour where you will be able to experience Class V whitewater in the 45' jet boat, all while staying safe, dry and comfortable. There is also the Three Rivers Tour, where you will travel on the Chulitna River. This river is a braided river which offers a unique and picturesque experience. Alaska is one of 4 areas in the world that has an extensive braided river system.

To be clear, I didn't ride on the boat, but I experienced it. With all due respect for the owners and staff who surely work hard and provide fun for many, I was aghast at the appearance of the largest and only motorized boat in an otherwise totally natural and nearly silent Alaskan setting. On our paddling trip, we saw... More

We were hosted by a young man, (Captain), as I recall, born in Talkeetna and he knows the river and how to handle a hi-powered boat. The river was at historical levels due to the rain, and it was raining again today! There were 10 or 12 passengers on this smaller jet-boat. The tour begins with a safety or Coast... More

Beautiful scenery slips by as your jet boat flys over the shallow river, eventually coming face to face with a wall of white water rapids. You can snap pictures of you, as if you are in the rapids, while the captain holds the jet boat against the surging current. Then munch on the contents of a generous brown bag lunch,... More

Israel, our pilot knew exactly how to handle this jet boat. Fantastic scenery and lots of bald eagles. A stop at a recreated trapper home felt real and gave you a taste of the life people led. The return ride was quite exciting!

We travelled 130 miles on the river for an all day ride at about 30-40 mph. The captain Eli was very knowledgeable about the area and stopped to let us watch the salmon swim and regaled us with stories of the area. Our destination was Devil's Canyon where no one has even attempted to go over the rapids in a... More

We did the full day trip with lunch, ride to the Class 5&6 rapids, and nature hike to trappers camp. It was all amazing. We learned a ton from both Captain Isreal and Kelly. Captain Isreal is a local of Talkeetna (which is rare) his childhood stories and experiences with family were wonderful. We saw more eagles than we could... More

Thanks to Captain Eli and First Mate, Kelly for a delightful adventure. Not only did we get to experience yet another side of Denali, but we saw several bears, eagles, and wildlife in their natural habitat, but then we got to experience Class 5 whitewater as we traversed Devil's Canyon. What a thrill !! Then we toured a trapper's cabin... More

We had a great time on our tour with Mahay's Jet Boat adventure. The weather was terrific and the tour was very informative and fun. The captain was very entertaining and we really liked the little tour we took in the "woods" to learn about native plants, animals and "trapping" as well as Native Alaskans. We had incredible view of... More

We choose this tour on our land portion of our Alaskan Cruise on Princess. We didn't really know what to expect but decided it was taking us into the wilderness quite a ways and it did. The boat is enclosed in plexi glass with windows so it doesn't matter what the weather is. There is a back deck that you... More
