Nice at night! Many vendors from nearby village to sell cloths, accessories, food and many more. Weekend is the best time to visit this place

It is a small square just between the Sun Plaza and the Holy Rosary Church. As it was raining season during end of May/early Jun, the square was almost empty. There were few aborigines sitting along the edge of the square near the church selling handcrafts. Most of them were still kids and they have to bear the living cost by selling those handcrafts. The square provide a great view to the picturesque Sun Plaza as background and a boutique hotel next to it. We have a feeling like we are in Europe with those architectures surrounded.

Set among spectacular vistas, the town of Sapa is a travesty. I suspect 20 years ago it was quaint. Now it’s one giant construction zone with tacky shops and massage parlors. It it had taken hundreds of years to develop tourism instead of 20, it could be quaint town with stunning scenery like an Alpine village. They’ve even ruined the beautiful Fansipan mountain, turning it in to a tacky Disney ish monster with cable cars and touristy trash. Come to SaPa just to get out in the beautiful countryside but there is literally no reason to visit the city.

The square is perhaps is the center of Sapa. It is designed like a theater with a center stage where perhaps concerts, performances, and celebrations are being held. We were here during Christmas. There were small booths opened with Christmas celebration theme, local children dance performance, and local natives selling handmade merchandises.

Our hotel is located opposite the square.
And you can expect to hear concerts, gigs and event happening during our 2 days visit!
It's a wonderful experience when you can witness people gathering around there on the afternoon for the event happening surrounding the area and enjoying themselves !

The Stone Church is nearby too!

Overall, cool place to people watch in the afternoon. 😊

a huge square for such a small place, organised like kind of an amphitheatre. in the center, the boys are playing (football etc.), while around it the ethnic minority mothers and children are sitting around, dressed up for tourists to take pictures...

It is situated in the center of sapa, just in front of the catholic church. It’s quite a busy spot attracting people who are hanging out at the corners of the square and the streets around the Church.there is a love market held in saturday here.but that time i visited,it was very cold, and misty, hard to see anything, only see some vendors sitting around and selling food or clothes, also kids of minority people selling some little things to you.anyway this place still worth a visit if you want to know daily life in Sapa..

We were lucky to have a balcony overlooking "Quang Truong Square", so we often watched what was going on.

Lots of kids played here, school day events happened, people flew drones and kites and photographers took wedding photos there.

There was often something different going on. Great people-watching, and free.

There are many food and drink outlets nearby

Currently in sapa and the town/ city is more like a huge demolition and construction site as it stands..
So much heavy construction traffic moving around both day and night..
Streets dug up, paths uplifted for new or replacement utilities to be installed..
Large cranes blot the landscape..
Local businesses obviously not doing a great trade..
Dust is terrible..
Ampethtere in town centre is a meeting place for local youths at night and pop up food cafes ( just for local people though from what we're seeing here..).
Not great too come see at the moment unfortunately..
If you're planning to visit, then do as we did, go into locat tourist/ come history office to look for things too do around the area outside of town.
