We needed a place to camp. This place is okay. Pit toilets, sites are not very private, you can see everyone around you. Fortunately, it was empty when we were there. Near a river and near town which was a plus.

Centennial Park sits on the Kenai River in Saldotna, AK. It is a beautiful setting with campgrounds, day use, fishing access and boat launch ramp.

We were unable to get in main campground so paid full $26 fee to camp in overflow parking lot at the Sports Center. This over flow area was fine. No complaints about it. Nicely paved and not too crowded. Of course, we would rather have had our 36' motor home in regular campground but our fault for not making reservation... More

This park contains a visitor center containing the world record King Salmon. Just outside the visitor center is a set of stairs leading to the river. Along the way are panels educating you about the area and salmon fishing. The boardwalk along the river helps protect the river bank while giving fishermen easy access to the water.

You can bring the family here to see all kinds of Alaska wildlife. It's conveniently located, and fun for visitors and locals alike. Pack a picnic and spread out on a blanket and just enjoy Alaska and the quiet slice of nature this park offers. Listen to the sound of the river running, or walk beside it and see the... More

This park is right in Soldotna but you could never tell once you enter the parl. Feels like your a million miles away from civilization but the stores are right around the corner.

Great side trip, it is on the main road. See several examples of Alaskan wildlife, including the largest king salmon ever caught.

Stayed for two nights in the middle of the week between silver runs. Got our pick of waterfront campsites. River access was fantastic. There was a fair amount of trash around the campsite and in the campfire ring. RV dump was locked when we tried to dump on our way out and we couldn't find anyone to unlock it. Sites... More

Nice campgrounds and good access to the river. The only down side is how crowded it gets. People were nice, but we tried to go when it wasn't super crowded. Once everyone from Anchorage rolls in the combat fishing really begins.
