I have used Fishology for two separate trips now. They are very helpful while doing research and then when you get to town. We really enjoyed our river trip on the Kenai River this year, and when motor trouble cut our day short, Mark found us another guide to take us out in the afternoon. Definitely recommend Fishology to help... More

My experience with Fishology was virtually identical to the review titled, "Could have been better". I would like to make it clear that our dream team guide was not Matt. The problems with this outfit start at the top and trickle down through the system. My recommendation, avoid the first week of August and don't let Mark talk you into... More

I find it strikingly obvious that the slow sockeye run had many anglers and guides disappointed this season. Matt, and all the guides that guide for Fishology, receive rave reviews 95% of the time, and the few negative reviews this season are consistently based around the fact that the client wanted to catch sockeye, and didn't have the luck they... The wife & I don't fish much but we love eating salmon. One previous trip to AK we were shut out. Our guide Matt contacted us the day before the trip to discuss what we'd like to do, what fish we'd like to fish for, etc. The next morning he took our party of four RIGHT TO "THE SPOT" where... More

Did we catch fish? Sure. Did we have fun? Yeah. Was it nearly as good as it could have been? No. Here is what you have to know if you are new to fishing for Salmon...there are salmon and you will hook in to some. If they are really running you'll catch lots. If they aren't you won't catch as... More

We were slightly disappointed but overall happy. At first we were a little disappointed that we did not have Mark as our guide as I had mentioned it was the fact that I booked him months ago because him and my son were both marine biology graduates and thought it would be cool to fish with him and learn some... Just returned after spending 5 days fishing with my dad in the kenai. Incredible trip. Much love to Mark, Brionna and the rest of the staff for setting us up with a flawless vacation. Only regret is not staying in Mark's cabins off the kenai river for the duration of our time in Soldotna. Regardless of where we fished (Soldotna/Homer/Seward),... More

Mark and his team of guides did an amazing job. Big shout out to Brandon and Matt, they were superb. We stayed in Mark's Orca cabins, had fabulous days on the Kasilof river, and even though the sockeye run is slow, we still landed some beautiful fish. Mark also set us up with an amazing fly in fishing trip, which... More

We fished the Kasilof river for sockeye and kings. 3 am wake up the teenaged kids were thrilled at that lol. We got to the river and met our guide he had hot coffee . We started for kings and no luck . We went to his spot he likes for sockeye and taught us the technique for sockeye sort... More

Glad you guys enjoyed most of your trip, and had nice things to say about your guide and the service they provided you. That's the part we can control, and we work hard to make sure you're in the hands of a friendly, knowledgeable, professional that wants nothing more than to represent Alaska and our fishery the right way. Unfortunately,... More
