This was essentially our first kayaking experience. We brought our two boys, 7 and 9, and they had a blast. My husband was a little nervous about the boys as it was on the open ocean (though in a cove, no waves to worry about) but he was quickly reassured by the professional staff. We saw wildlife, including eagles, crabs,... More

We met our guide, Chloe, near the Liquid Sunshine Gauge in the center of town. Unfortunately, because of the rain and wind, the water was too choppy for us to safely kayak in Orcas Cove. Southeast Seas offered us either a full refund, or a partial refund and a replacement Ketchikan Kayaking tour. Hungry for adventure, we opted for the... More

We chose Southeast kayaks based on reviews instead of booking through our cruise when we visited AK. I am SO GLAD we did. We had such a great time with our guide John. He was very patient and kind and gave us such a beautiful experience of Ketchikan. We were grateful to have a native guiding us! The nature speaks... More

We went to Orca Cove with four other people on a cloudy day. Our guide was great, and we saw the beautiful cove, seals and sea stars. I liked the set-up of this trip very much. We traveled to the cove in a boat, and at the end boarded a larger boat where we had smoked salmon for a light... More

Oh my gosh we had an amazing time kayaking the coastline with Southeast Sea Kayaks. Everything from start to finish was handled very well with them and they are extremely organized. Our guide was amazing and she shared her vast knowledge and love for the area with us. We saw whales, starfish, sea-lions and many more animals. We went from... More

What a fun time! How relaxing and what fun being on the water seeing an Eagle, a Harbor Seal, a couple of whales and some of the most beautiful starfish ever! Not bad for a couple of hours on the water in mid-September. From start to finish, everyone with this company was so nice. Rebekkah lead our little group and... More

My wife and I are, I suppose, what you might describe as middle-aged and not the sportiest. Certainly, neither of us has kayaked (although we both have limited canoe experience from school). So it was a bit of a leap of faith to try this experience. But we are glad we did! We booked the excursion as the first of... More

We arrived off the cruise in Ketchikan and it was pouring rain. As scheduled we met with the staff at the designated meeting spot near the Liquid Sunshine gauge. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit us to go out in kayaks (the sea was too choppy) but the staff were quick to offer us either a full refund or a... More

Thanks so much for being game for an alternate tour! We're never happy when the weather does not work out for kayaking but we'll always offer another option if we have one. We're so glad that you enjoyed your time with us. Come back soon. More

This was an absolutely wonderful trip. The weather was a bit nasty but it didn't dampen our spirits and it didn't dampen theirs. The folks here were knowledgeable, easy going and very personable. We motored out to a cove, and kayaked our hearts out around many island shorelines (we opted out of the more open water because it was foggy... More

Gillian was an awesome guide! She and Greg set us up on the sea kayaks with ease and she is a great instructor. The seals came right up to our kayak while we were in the water on Creek Street and we saw a bald eagle. I would do this again and recommend it to anyone, rain or shine.
