Owned and operated by the City of Ketchikan Museum Department. If this museum is indicative of the quality of the Museum Department's locations, I am very sorry we did not have time to visit others. This is a collection of 19th century totem poles retried in the 1970s with the permission of Native elders. Due to deterioration, these are not... More

We stopped here on the official walk around the city. Fascinating stuff - we were quite absorbed by the history and the stories

This a good opportunity to see some original totem poles close to town. It is a short ride on the free town shuttle bus which also goes past the end of Creek St. We did the quick walk around but you could spend longer if you wanted to study the totems in depth. The staff are very helpful and are... More

I had a great time exploring the forest here. You can hike all over and explore the forest on some great trails. We also viewed salmon in the river, eagles and all types of flora. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Or just an hour if the weather is sunny! Some wonderful old totems and artifacts here, safely stored so to keep them alive for another generation. Nicely laid out with good information and with the appearance of being well looked after.

This is a really neat attraction. There are lots of Totem poles that help us understand the history of the early peoples here. The bookstore is excellent. Great place to take pictures.

We visited this center while on a walking tour of the town. The displays were well labeled and presented. However, what we appreciated most was the staff who were so willing to give us indepth information on the exhibits as well as the culture and history of the area. The lady who spoke with us most was delightful and was... More
