Appreciating Ketchikan’s history and natural heritage can be tricky if you’re exploring alone. Forget the hassle of finding your own way and get an insider’s perspective of this Alaskan port town on a small-group tour led by a local guide. Tick off top attractions such as the Salmon Ladder and a hand-dug hatchery, then immerse yourself in nature with included round-trip transfer ensuring stress-free access to wildlife-rich spots such as Rotary Beach and Herring Cove.

This was a nice stop, small but very informative heritage center. If was also on our way to a Deer Path hiking trail. If you are just walking around then I would recommend this stop.

I actually was looking for the Totem Park, but after walking to where I thought was it, I ended up at the Totem Heritage Center. What a beautiful mistake! :-) Loved this place! A must visit for sure!

This building is lovely inside and out. There are ramps and restrooms that make it accessible, but the huge heavy doors provide a barrier for some. Inside the artwork is incredible; ancient totem poles, modern sculpture, textile art, even a full size dug-out style canoe from a single piece of wood. All very impressive and authentic. The first museum that I have been to in the world where they did NOT try to sell visitors trinkets!! Cost $6 so reasonable!
