Interesting little shopping area

This is an interesting little shopping area. Once upon a time, it was a red light district. The historical information is kind of fun. Check it out if you are in the area!

Thundering Wings at Eagle Park, The Chief Johnson Totem Pole, The Chief Kyan Totem Pole at Whale Park are three of the beautiful totem poles a tourist will see going from the pier to Creek Street. Near the entrance to Creek Street is the Chief Johnson Totem Pole. These views alone make the walk well worth it. Then you are... More

This tiny street is located just off the port and on a salmon stream. Soon it will be loaded with salmon swimming upstream. The houses here are quaint with the most infamous being Dolly's House. Also visit Salmon, Etc. If you want DELICIOUS salmon, visit Steve there and get a sample. This is a must see street.

Had looked forward to visiting here but nothing special and shopping same as anywhere. Would not go out of my way to visit this area.

This area is very charming but VERY crowded and overwhelming during tourist season. We checked it out off our cruise ship but left fairly quickly due to the crowds. Some of the shops looked cute and worthy of a peek but again, it was just too busy for our taste!

This is a fun area where you can poke through a variety of shops, get a bite to eat or a drink, experience some of the historic sites and make it a day. Do as little or as much as you want!

We spent about an hour strolling along this tourist street. We found it an interesting look at a previous time in Ketchikan's history. It was fun and toursisty. We saw salmon swimming upstream and two seals in the harbour. Worth a look.

You can do,this on your own but the guided tour does add a lot. But then you need time to go,back and walk the town on your own. Amazing preservation of walkways and boardwalks built into the hillside.

We enjoyed walking around the charming town of Ketchikan last week while on an Alaskan Cruise. We especially enjoyed Creek Street with its interesting buildings and history. I couldn't believe how many jewelry stores were in Ketchikan, and of course, I had to buy something!

Take a step back into frontier time with a visit and walk through this "red light" district; now converted into shops and restaurants. The shops are mostly local, so it is a chance to get away from the dockside shops owned by the cruise lines. Fun diversion before, after, or between excursions.
