We had a short amount of time in port off the cruise ship. There wasn't enough time to get to the Totem Bight park, so we decided to visit Saxman. What a waste of time! We spent time on the bus getting there, with my...More

Somewhat historical. Guide was a friendly knowledgeable person. Also generous ... supplied cookies for us. Kids would really enjoy this!! Wish our grandkids had been with us.

Lovely display of totems with easy access. We rented a car from Alaska Car Rental and drove from end to end in Ketchikan. This was one of my favorite stops. It's a short walk up the hill/street from the main road. You can also drive...More

My husband and I are very independent travelers and would always choose to tour ourselves instead of going with a tour group. Well, we took the bus to Saxman and saw beautiful totems but no information about them. It was interesting peeking into the carving...More

Beautiful place to visit, next to the carving station. Our guide gave us some great insight to totem poles. We did not have enough time to go to the other totem places, which is why we quickly took a tour of this one.

Booked tour off cruise ship. Road school bus to center visited Clan house and toured totems. All are reproduced but still interesting. Saw carving house.

A very traditional park with many Tlingit Totem Poles. Visit the carvers shed and see Nathan Jackson at work. He is one of five Master Carvers of Northwest Coastal Art. Truly a genius at work.

Our tour in September was also through the cruise ship and we were taken into the Clan House and given a show and into the carving house. We were disappointed with both. The history is interesting. I will point out our trip... More
