For someone who lives on the other side of the world, it was amazing to be able to tick something like this off my list. Although it would have been fun to go racing in snow, it was still a laugh and a lot of fun to be there in Autumn/Fall and still be able to go sledding with the... More

Fun trip to the woods of Juneau to a camp with a bunch of dogs. It is here they 'train' their dogs for the snow sledding but they do it here with carts with wheels. This was, with no snow, the dogs can still train. You get a ride on the 'sled' and then they have an area where, if... More

I have been once on a dog sledding in Canada and I did not have any idea that the dogs train in summer in the camps as well. My daughter loved it , especially hugging the puppies at the end.

A unique experience. Located deep within the rain forest in the hills behind Juneau this camp is essentially a training camp for husky's used in competitive dog sledding once the winter snows arrive. The organisers picked us up from the cruise ship in a small coach and transported us to the location where we were greeted by the excited yelps... More

We had taken the above tour with our friends & it was for nearly 2hrs. & 45 mins & we paid US$ 624 through Celebrity Cruises (INFINITY). Pl. take the tour from the port as the same was cheaper by atleast US$ 100 which is a substantial amount for Indian tourists. The tour was great esp. the dog sledge for... More

The time at the camp was fun and informative. The sled ride was an adventure. The mushers were informative and the dogs friendly. Also a great view of Douglas island

Ever watch the Iditarod race competitions up in Alaska? This is where it all begins. These dogs love a good workout and people. Take a ride on cart, meet the new puppies and the trainers in camp. Then have a free cup of hot chocolate, coffee, tea and snack.

This was one of our excursion trips when our ship docked in Juneau. We were extended family of 9 with grandparents, cousins, sisters, brother-in-law and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Definitely expensive and maybe a little cheaper if you book directly than through the cruise line which we did (check that out; wish we had). But the... More

What a great experience. As most people, we booked this as an excursion from our cruise ship. First you get in a van, drive to the next stop and go up and up and up in a unimog(another first). This is not for the faint of heart. The roads are narrow and the vehicle is near the edge. You are... More

Did this 7 years ago with the kids and as 20-somethings now, they still rave about the sled dog tour. Seven years later we did it again (sans kids) but the experience was still at the top. Getting pulled by a team of dogs is amazing. Most of us will never experience it in snow so a wheeled sled through... More
