Beautiful scenery. Some climbing. Absolutely worth the effort. Clear pools and roaring waterfalls through the forest make for a photo and mind relaxing experience.

Went to Homestead Park on Douglas Island across from Juneau Alaska while on a city tour. It is a small park on 3rd street that gives a great view of the Harbor. We only stayed for 20 minutes as we were on a tour. Hiked down to the waters edge it was an easy hike. I posted it here on... More

Cope Park is pretty little local park within walking distance to the cruise ship docks, just a bit past the Governor's House, but unfortunately it is undergoing construction this summer (2016) and access may be limited.

Its not what it used to be. I do not recommend during the school season. Teenagers flock to the park to smoke and drink.

I was born and raised in Juneau and have been to this park many times over the years. It has some picnic tables under some evergreens, some swings, & large toys for kids to climb on. There is also a tennis court. It's near Gold Creek set near the base of the mountain. The best time to visit the park... More

I love Gold Creek from here. You can just sit and enjoy or you can hike, play tennis or picnic. When I was a kid this was where the swimming pool was for swimming lessons...... brrrrr.

Cope Park at one time was an epicenter of activity, sports, and family oriented uses. Today well maintained within parameters. Trees have overgrown much of the area, leaving a dark algae on decomposing wood. Dark shadowy areas permit excessive use by indigents for partying, and hobo living. Watch where you step. A trail to homeless dwellings up the canyon, travels... More

We'd wanted to get out and get some exercise while in Juneau and decided to go check out the Cemetery Trail. We stumbled across this park as we headed back to Downtown. In fact, it was a black bear racing across the street that sort of led us to it. It's not very big, but the weather was dry and... More

Kind of dark because its down in a ravine but it has a nice trail, tennis courts, a big very cold natural pool for cooling off in the summer, great to hear the rushing water as you stroll along
