I went on the Mt Roberts tramway after completing the hike to Mendenhall Glacier with Adventure flow tours. What a fun time on the mountain. Snow. Lots of slipping and sliding, fun photos and the most amazing views. It was a completely fun day. Just allow time to get back down the mountain. Took about 45 minutes.

Nice short local route with some great scenery and views. The trail tread (walking surface) has some drainage problems...in places eroded badly, or puddled and muddy. Other places a nice wide firm trail. A steep trail.

We hiked from the 6th street entrance, which is marked as closed and to be honest probably should be, but being adventurous we did it anyways since the Basin road entrance was farther away. It was raining the day we went so the trails were a sloppy mess. The 6th street trail was pretty treacherous but with a walking stick... More

My husband and I hiked up to the tramway; it took us a but over an hour at a pretty slowish pace for us. It was a good hike, and worth it to save the money. It you spend $10 up there you get a free ride down on the tram. We also walked up to where the cross was,... More

We took the tram up and then did some hiking from there. We were there on a rainy day and a hike up wasn't feasible. On top we visited the raptor center, which is really just one eagle, Lady Baltimore, and her handler.  Lady Baltimore’s rescue story is sad but uplifting, and her knowledgeable handler is more than happy to... We hiked to the top of the trail to the Tram station, it was a long and slow hike but very nice with great views out over the valley. The hike through town to the start of the trail from the cruise port is up hill all the way but worth the trip. Once we were at the top we... More

Mt. Roberts Tram Upon advice from the lovely Meredith, who works at The Hanger, we chose to walk 'up' the mountain to the restaurant at the top, planning to take the tram down. She was very correct! To try to walk down the mountain, over the wooded path, would have been much more difficult as the angle was quite steep.... More

Took the trail up to the tram building. Hike is about 2 miles (one way to the top) and was challenging due to the snow on the trail. There are several areas that are a little rough, and drifting made areas of the trail very interesting. Probably a trail for older kids and adults. Younger kids might complain. At the... More
