Alaskan sized adventure! This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330 feet long, 1,300 foot vertical drop, 60 mph maximum speed, 300 feet highest point from ground, 1.5 minute ride time! If you are looking for true adventure then the ZipRider is for you. Unlike anything you've seen before the ZipRider cable ride at Icy Strait Point is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Your adventure begins when you board your bus for the ride to the top the mountain. Your driver will narrate as you pass through the village of Hoonah and then up the mountainside. Once on top you will take a short walk to the launching area. At 1,300 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Six guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom! 3, 2, 1 and you're off, accelerating to 60 mph as you pass 300 feet above the treetops. If your eyes are still open you will see sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship far below. Your ZipRide concludes with a break-activated landing on the beach back at Icy Strait Point.Participants must be between 90 and 275 pounds and be comfortable with heights. This ride is not recommended for individuals with back or neck problems, or who are pregnant. Photos will be available at the end of your ride!

If you stop at icy strait make sure to sign up for this ride. It's suitable for old and young and you don't need to love roller coasters! There is nothing scary about it. It's pure fun. I highly recommend it

Loved going 60mph down the mountain and watching my husband's cheeks flap in the wind next to me. It was pricey but it was worth the 45 minute tour of Hoonah and the adjacent islands on the bus to get up to the top of...More

Glenn was a great tour guide with the perfect mix of humor and facts. His pride in his community was evident. The zip ride was a favorite of all six members of our family (age 25-58). Very impressive little town..

Had not reserved the Zipline in advance as I wanted to wait to see if it was going to be too overcast. The cloud layer seemed to be lifting so off they went (daughter, son-in-law, and 8-year old grandson). Loved the ride and would do...More

Icy Strait point is a small port that only has room for one cruise ship at a time. It's a small little village that thrives on the tourist dollar. The big attraction here is The World's Largest Ziprider. It's a giant zip line where six...More

As others have noted, the Zipline is fabulous. But the hidden gem in this attraction is the 45 minute narrated and scenic bus ride of the island to the top. Our tour guide, Glenn, is a naturally gifted tour guide - very knowledgeable, entertaining, and...More

Wear shoes that are secure - If you drop anything it would be impossible to retrieve. I had a zip up jacket as it is a little breezy. I carried an expensive camera and needed to hold it securely to my body when we came in to... More
