We were surprised to find out that the visitor center is funded by US Fish and Wildlife. Try to take the short walk to the beach from here.

A great way to see a lot of nature in a small place. Since Alaska gets frequent rains it is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

The Visitor Center is first rate, educational and interesting-something for all ages. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful--need to put this on the agenda. Just my husband and I went, but good for families, free parking, no lines, not a hidden gem (on the main...More

The videos here were extremely interesting as well as the displays. We also attended a evening program on photography that was informative. Don't miss this visitor center.

Couldn't do justice to thus place due to very limited time. Lots of educational displays to learn from. We did the board walk and enjoyed the small hike

We stopped here when it was rainy before it cleared for the afternoon. It was cute and well done; I've been to many museums all over the country. It's very much worth a stop, and they have organized wildlife talks scheduled as well. We participated...More

The visitor center is a good stop to get some information. The first time at the end of the day, the man behind the desk was not really helpful. The next day, we got some excellent tips to do with children. They also show some...More

The Center is a great place to take a journey to Alaska’s past, present and future. There are interactive displays, helpful staff, and a nice gift shop. Behind the Center there is a trail downhill to Bishop’s Beach and the town of Homer.
