Local bar, and there are characters. We stopped for a beer, had a blast. Just make sure you blend in with the locals. FYI, it is a smoking bar and I imagine it could get smokey in there. The windows were all open when we were there and it wasn't bad.

Well, we fit in to a tee! One must be a cameleon and wear a differant hat. It is a very local hangout. Not much for those looking for plush -nope. We had an awesome bartendar that took super good care of the four of us. Never an empty glass. Will go back tomorrow🍻

This is what it says outside - who could resist? You open the door and everyone falls silent and turns to look at you... But what fun! We sat at the bar and had a couple of beers and chatted with the very friendly locals. This pub is authentic (unlike the Salty Dawg) and Homer residents frequent it, and are... More

Of course if you are traveling through Homer, you have to go to the Salty Dawg just so you can say you've been to the Salty Dawg. But for a truly great bar, this is the place to go It is in the actual town of Homer, not on the Spit. Had great live music when we were there, affordable... More

We went in one evening when staying in Homer. It had a great atmosphere and was full of very friendly locals. They were fun to talk to. You are allowed to smoke in there, but this just adds to the traditional bar character and makes it even more relaxed.it had a good mix of ages and we liked it.The bar... More

Great bar, a real taste of Alaska. It has all of the atmosphere of a fishermans bar, great locals and also full of young folk coming to see the bands. Good food and friendly bar staff. Best nights were with "English John" singing. Really made the atmosphere even more fun. Fantastic musician and great character, other musicians were good too!... More

Loved the Guy Johnny from Manchester England. Hes a real folk singer and perfect singer/banjo and guitar player . I love his show on Thursdays. I've been to all the bars in homer and none of them compare to Kharacters, for the simple fact that they don't have "English John" playing in them. He adds a magical type of feeling... More

This bar feel larger inside than it looks from the outside. There was a band playing every night that we were there. One of the bands was really not good, but the rest were entertaining. And the music can be pretty loud. There is a good amount of seating at the bar and some tables on the floor. The bartenders... More

The music is so loud in Fridays at 5:00 to 9:00 that one can not talk to the person next to them. The bartender refuses to have it turned down it is not an enjoyable environment at that hour so I suggest to avoid and go somewhere else
